Hotel Information

KANYEMBA LODGE

9 comfortable chalets, each with deck viewing the Zambezi river, en-suite Bathrooms. No Comforts are spared. The chalets are built out of natural materials, stone walls and thatched roofs. This allows the structures to blend in with the surroundings, but most of all it means that the chalets stay very cool even in the hotter months.

We do have Mains electricity, tea coffee making facilities, hairdryers, air conditioning and safes in each room. Meals are well renowned for their mouthwatering experience, and dinners are served under a gigantic wild mango tree. Proper Italian coffees including espresso and cappuccinos are served throughout the day.

Swimming pool with deck over the Zambezi river. The Deck is also used for private dining. After activities, guests can make use of our extensive Library and Lounge. We are one of the few child-friendly lodges in our area.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Built in 1999 and 2000, opened in 2001 by owner/guide Riccardo Garbaccio. Riccardo is a Zambian, born from Italian parents, and this shines in the day to day Kanyemba Experience. Nothing is too difficult to please our guests, but the standards of service and of the cuisine are of the highest.

Kanyemba Lodge has offered many jobs to the local community and hence has contributed substantially to the conservation of the area. All our Staff are from the Local Community, and our community programs benefit the future generation of Zambia.

Guests are invited to visit our preschool, as well as the local primary schools we support, and Conservation Lower Zambezi’s base camp, (Riccardo has been chairman of CLZ since 2009, and a board member since 1999).

Kanyemba Island is also part of the property, and thanks to the efforts in conserving it, the island is home to a large elephant population, as well as other game. On the Island, there is also a secluded bush camp with an additional 4 rooms, for the more adventurous guests who want to experience the proximity of the African bush and its inhabitants, whilst still maintaining the luxurious standards that you would expect at Kanyemba Lodge
