This 10 days package is more focused on the great Wildlife Sanctuaries of Zambia and you will get a chance to experience one of the best wildlife safaris on the African Continent. This package is valid from 1st June through to 31st October each year
This is the perfect safari package for wildlife safari enthusiasts and I would recommend it if you are into seeing more wildlife (animals and birds during your trip). You might also have a chance to see bats in Kasanka National Park if you will be going there during the time of their migration!! Accommodation in Kasanka is on high demand in October/November because of the bat migration, so if this package works for you, then I would recommend that we reserve the space at Wasa Lodge as soon as possible.
In this package, we combine the following tourist destination areas of Zambia;

A summary of this itinerary is shown below;
Day 1 - flight from Lusaka to Mfuwe (South Luangwa)
On arrival at Lusaka International Airport (off your international flight), you will connect onto a local flight which will take you to Mfuwe Airport in South Luangwa National Park.
At Mfuwe Airport, your guide will welcome you and take you to Zikomo Safari Camp which will be your base from which to explore the game-rich South Luangwa National Park.
Day 1 to Day 4 - Zikomo Safari Camp, South Luangwa National Park
Zikomo Safari is a comfortable eighteen (18) bed camp in one of the best game viewing areas in the Nsefu Sector of the South Luangwa National Park. Built on the banks of the Luangwa River, Zikomo Safari Camp offers great views of the river and great views of the abundant birds and wildlife that live in and around the area. Far away from other camps, Zikomo Safari Camp has the best location from which to enjoy an unforgettable South Luangwa safari.
Zikomo Safari is owned and operated by an American family who work with experienced Zambian managers and staff. The Camp employs top professional guides, some of them with over fifteen (15) years experience in the Luangwa Valley. With immediate access to the Park, Zikomo Safari Camp guests can treat themselves to wonderful day and night game drives. Magnificent walking safaris, for which the South Luangwa is famous, are also available and they begin and end at the well-appointed main lodge and dining room in the company of a qualified walking guide and an escort scout.
This is the only lodge in the Nsefu Sector with affordable rates. Although the rates are reasonable, the focus of the Zikomo Safari Camp team is on providing excellent, personalized and top quality service to all guests. In summary, Zikomo Safari Camp offers the best value for the money spent.
Included in the package rate at Zikomo Safari Camp:- Chalet Accommodation for 3 nights, all meals (breakfast, lunch, high teas and dinner), Park and Conservation Fees. You activities at Wildlife Camp will be privately guided game drives in the company of your private guide. Note that drinks at Wildlife Camp are not included in the package rate.
Day 4 - Road travel from South Luangwa to North Luangwa
On this day, you will leave the South Luangwa after breakfast in the morning going to North Luangwa road. This will be an adventurous road trip, passing through villages and most of it is in the bush, so there is a lot to see along the way and the fact that it is a private safari means you have the flexibility to stop along the way when you find something interesting.
This transfer will take about 7 hours and your next home will be Buffalo Camp in North Luangwa and you will be for 3 nights.
Day 4 to Day 7 - Buffalo Bushcamp, North Luangwa National Park
North Luangwa National Park is one of the last unspoilt true wilderness areas left in Africa. Renowned for its enormous herds of buffalo and numerous other species of wildlife and birdlife, this park is remote and wonderfully wild!
Buffalo Camp is a seasonal bush camp based in the North Luangwa National Park. The camp usually opens at the beginning of June and closes at the end of October. The Camp consists of 6 chalets all en-suite plus 1 guide’s chalet. The chalets are all over looking the Mwaleshi River. A maximum of 12 clients can be accommodated at a time. The area is predominately for walking safaris but we will do limited game and night drives. Buffalo Camp is unique in that it is one of the only camps in the North Luangwa that accommodate families with children.
The recommended stay at Buffalo Camp is from three to five nights. This will enable you to fully appreciate the uniqueness of the North Luangwa Area.
Included in the package rate at Buffalo Bushcamp:- Chalet Accommodation for 3 nights, all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), and Park Fees. Your activities at Buffalo Bushcamp will be privately guided game drives in the company of your private guide. Note that drinks at Buffalo Bushcamp are not included in the package rate.
Day 7 - Road transfer from North Luangwa to Kasanka National Park
After breakfast this morning, you will leave Buffalo Camp for Kasanka National Park; this is another interesting road trip which will take about 6.5 hours through the bush, small towns and villages. Again, your guide who knows the way will be able to give you information on various interesting places as you travel.
Your next home will be Wasa Lodge in Kasanka National Park and you will be exploring this park for 3 nights.
Day 7 to Day 10 - Wasa Lodge, Kasanka National Park
Kasanka National Park's wide variety of different types of vegetation results in it harbouring a diverse range of animal and bird species. As well as elephant, buffalo and thousands of puku, you'll find Sharp's grysbok, Lichtenstein's hartebeest, sable and the shy roan antelope. Kasanka's predators are shy, but hyena, lion and leopard do occur, along with a host of mongooses, and the rare, slender-snouted crocodile.
One of the park's highlights is the Fibwe tree-hide - a short climb into a magnificent mahogany. It is probably the best place in Africa for observing wild sitatunga, and sightings of these elusive antelope are virtually guaranteed.
Wasa Lodge is the main base for the park's team. Wasa has eight thatched rondavels, each with en-suite showers and flush toilet, as well as a few more basic chalets. The Lodge also has a new main building housing a Bar, Dining room, Reception and Verandah overlooking the lake. All the buildings have thatched roofs and are in a traditional style.
Included in the package at Wasa Lodge:- Accommodation for 3 nights, all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner daily), private drives during the day with your guide using a hired vehicle, park and conservation fees. Note that all beverages are not included in the package rate.
Day 10 - Road travel from Kasanka National Park to Lusaka
