Day 1 – Transfer from Livingstone Airport to Waterberry Lodge
Upon arrival at Livingstone airport off your International flight, your guide will be at waiting for you at the airport who will help you with your luggage and later transfer you from the Airport to Waterberry Lodge in Livingstone which will be your home for your first three nights in Zambia.
Day 1 to Day 4, Waterberry Lodge in Livingstone
35 minutes from Livingstone in a lovely, secluded position on the banks of the spectacular Zambezi River with views to the Zambezi National Park on the opposite bank. Our small, friendly, informal lodge is famous for its staff, food, gardens and tranquil riverbank setting. Within easy reach of Victoria Falls but away from all the hustle and bustle of Livingstone it’s a perfect base for visiting the amazing Falls and enjoying the wide range of activities around Livingstone before heading off to explore wonderful Zambia. We’re also within easy reach of neighboring Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
Have a look at the River Farmhouse, built on the site of the original farmhouse on the riverbank, a separate house for families and groups travelling together.
The main double-storey lodge building overlooks the Zambezi and the game park on the opposite bank. Upstairs the main lounge is open to the thatch with comfortable seating, magnificent views, books, an unusual collection of old African maps and some excellent paintings by local artists.
Meals are served in the ground floor dining area or alfresco on the sun terrace and deck overlooking the river. Guests may choose to have private dinners on their terraces or one of the secluded pontoons or platforms around the lodge. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available all day, and waiters are standing by to serve drinks.
Wifi is free of charge and mobile phone signals are generally more reliable than the land line.
Guests love our informal style and our friendly, welcoming staff who do all they can to make your stay a really memorable Zambezi experience.
Waterberry’s seven cottages are set around sweeping gardens and lawns – some on the riverbank, some overlooking the private lake with its beautiful birdlife.
The double, twin or family en-suite bedrooms are open to the high thatch (nice and cool in the hot sun), with mosquito nets, overhead fans and air conditioning. Bathrooms have bath robes, toiletries and hair dryers and baskets for our free laundry service.
Every room has a terrace with lounging furniture for sunbathing, birdwatching, private dinners or just relaxing……ideal for recovering from a long flight, or after the rigors of early morning and late-night safari drives.
