Day 1 – Transfer from Livingstone Airport to The Royal Livingstone Hotel

Upon arrival at Livingstone Airport, you will find your driver waiting for you who will help you with your luggage and later transfer you from the airport to Royal Livingstone Hotel for your first two nights in Zambia. During your time here, you will have a chance to explore the mighty Victoria Falls.

Day 1 to Day 3 - The Royal Livingstone Hotel in Livingstone

Experience the luxury of Anantara in an African paradise. Wildlife roam the hotel freely, offering unforgettable up-close encounters. Embrace the explorer life with indigenous design accents complemented by modern amenities and discreet butler service.

Some of the rooms are Decorated in Victorian style with modern conveniences, these spacious suites offer refined living and dining. Connect with stunning surroundings as you see zebras, giraffes, and an array of exotic birds through your floor-to-ceiling sliding doors. Dine overlooking the majestic Zambezi River.

Day 3 – Flight from Livingstone to Lusaka Airport

After your breakfast this morning – your driver will pick you up and transfer you from the Royal Livingstone Hotel to Livingstone Airport. You will have a local flight from Livingstone to Lusaka.

Day 3 – Road transfer from Lusaka Airport to Ila Safari Lodge in Kafue

Upon arrival at Lusaka Airport, you will find your driver waiting for you; he will help you with your luggage and then transfer you from Lusaka to Ila Safari Lodge in Kafue National Park. You will have a chance to explore the wilderness of Kafue National Park and enjoy the secrets it has to offer.

Day 3 to Day 6 - Ila Safari Lodge in Kafue NP

Ila Lodge was completed and opened its doors in July 2016 it is on the east bank of the Kafue River and so outside of the Park on privately owned property, it is close to the Hook Bridge which lies on the road running due west out of Lusaka and gives access to the central part of the Kafue National Park. This area now hosts several camps, and although you are unlikely to feel the presence of other tourists this slow increase in presence does impact positively on the wildlife sightings in the area which have improved in recent years.

Whilst the Kafue would not necessarily compare favorably against the South Luangwa or Lower Zambezi in terms of the quantity of animals one sees on an average drive, it is well renowned for the diversity of species that can be found and it is fast becoming an ‘essential tick‘ for any properly seasoned visitor to Zambia.

The camp itself will accommodate a maximum of 24 people in large, luxurious, and well-fitted-out tents on raised decks overlooking the river. The rooms could be compared to the newer safari tents at its neighboring camp Mukambi, a few kilometers downstream but the fact that this is newly constructed gives it a slight edge which is reflected in the price being charged.

Game drives and walks in the Park are offered as are cruises on the river, access to the Park will usually be gained across the river as vehicles are kept Park-side for game drives although the proximity of the camp to the Hook Bridge means that sometimes that route will be chosen.

Most guests will arrive at Ila Lodge from Lusaka by road which is a 3 - 4 hour drive; Chunga Airstrip is a 20-minute drive away so charter flights are also possible. We would usually recommend combining some time in the central area of the Park with a few days on the Busanga Plains in the north. It is possible to drive up through the Park towards the Plains or to take a seat-in-plane shuttle flight from the Chunga strip to the Busanga strip which will naturally be quicker and more expensive.

Day 6 – Road Transfer from Ila Safari Lodge to Latitude 15 Hotel in Lusaka

On this day after your morning breakfast, your driver will be with you again to transfer you from Ila Safari Lodge to Latitude 15 Hotel for your overnight stay. You will spend a night here waiting for your morning local flight from Lusaka Airport to Royal Airstrip in Lower Zambezi.

Day 10 to Day 13 - Chinzombo Camp in South Luangwa

Situated on a sweeping curve of the Luangwa River, Time + Tide Chinzombo brings style and sophistication to the Luangwa Valley. Designed by award-winning architects Silvio Rech and Lesley Carstens, Time + Tide Chinzombo won Best New Property in Africa in 2014 and again in 2015.

Each villa offers panoramic views of the Luangwa River and the abundant wildlife that frequents its banks. The South Luangwa is renowned for its world-class predator action, with especially strong sightings of the elusive leopard. Explore the region's diverse habitats with game drives, safari walks, and boat cruises (seasonal). Pamper yourself with an in-villa spa treatment during your midday break between safari activities.

When acquiring the Time + Tide Chinzombo location, a portion of the proceeds funded the relocation of black rhinos to North Luangwa National Park, where the North Luangwa Conservation Programme operates a rhino breeding and reintroduction project.
